Hofor CEO urges Danes to revisit emergency ‘prepping’ guidelines
Earlier today, the Ministry of Environment and Gender Equality announced that Danish water and wastewater utilities must strengthen security measures in response to the current threat landscape. The Danish Environmental Protection Agency has circulated new recommendations covering both physical and cyber security. As a result, Hofor has raised its internal threat level from yellow to orange. CEO Henrik Ploughmann Olsen told TV 2 that while there is no direct threat against Hofor at present, the company faces numerous cyberattacks “every single day.”“There are some that come knocking that we would rather not have,” Olsen said, adding that he encourages Danes to revisit the Emergency Management Agency’s official ‘prepping’ checklist.
