Drone temporarily closed runway at Oslo Airport
Oslo Airport’s eastern runway was briefly closed after 5:07 p.m. following reports of a drone flying near the area, police said.“The drone operator intended to film a drag race at Gardermoen Motorpark,” said operations manager Ronny Hellerud Samuelsen in the police log.
According to police, the incident did not affect air traffic.A man in his 30s was identified as the drone pilot. The drone was confiscated, and although he declined to be questioned on site, police have opened a case and will summon him for questioning later.
“Illegal drone operation is typically punishable by a fine of up to NOK 20,000 and confiscation of the drone,” Samuelsen noted.
