Russia’s hybrid warfare is not only targeting Denmark. According to Norwegian broadcaster NRK, Norway has confirmed that pro-Russian hackers were behind two cyberattacks earlier this year.In April, hackers breached the control system of a dam in Bremanger, Vestland, gaining access to regulate water flow — a move that risked triggering floods. The same group struck again in May, targeting a Norwegian company in a similar attack.“There are indications that individuals in this group, or the alliance it belongs to, have ties to Russian state actors,” said Per Niklas Hafsmoe of Norway’s intelligence service PST.While PST believes it knows who was responsible, no arrests can be made, and the case is being closed, NRK reports. Authorities also suspect the hackers are linked to data breaches in other countries.Moscow has consistently denied such allegations, Norwegian media note.
