Flights were grounded on Monday, September 23, after drones were reported in the airport’s airspace. However, one of the objects seen — captured on video by a passenger aboard a Norwegian flight — is now believed to have been a Danish training aircraft operated by Copenhagen Airtaxi AS.
The company told Norwegian Dronemagasinet that its training aircraft was conducting exercises in the area at the time. After reviewing the passenger’s footage, Copenhagen Airtaxi concluded that the light pattern in the video matches that of its aircraft.
Even so, the company’s operations manager, Sanne Ryge, declined to confirm this assessment to Avisen Danmark.
“My boss has informed the police of his opinion about the video. But I am not allowed, cannot, and will not comment further on the matter,” she said.
