Ukraine came under heavy attack overnight, with more than 100 drones launched against the country, according to the Ukrainian General Staff.
In a statement on Facebook, the General Staff reported that Russia deployed 113 attack drones of various types. Ukrainian forces managed to shoot down 86 of them, while 26 drones struck targets in 11 different areas.
“The attack is ongoing, and several enemy drones remain in the airspace,” the General Staff added.
Russia claims to have downed nearly 60 drones
Meanwhile, Russia’s Defense Ministry said its air defenses destroyed 59 drones over Russian territory overnight Tuesday, according to the state-run Tass news agency. It remains unclear how many drones may have reached their targets.
Three killed in Kherson region
Russian attacks on Ukraine’s Kherson region over the past 24 hours have killed three people and wounded 14 others, regional military administration head Oleksandr Prokudin reported on Telegram. Among the injured is a child, he said.
